Transforming mechanical instruments into objects of art and design is a cherished reality for Vacheron Constantin. A sketch, a geometric design and its technical extensions give rise to a world of shapes, colours and textures specific to the Maison and its aesthetic values. Far from being self-sufficient, the technical demands of a Vacheron Constantin watch stimulate an aesthetic exploration capable of transcending them. Beyond function, the ‘form’ expresses the creative impulse that unites craftsmen, designers, finishers, dial makers and leather craftsmen around a single timepiece.
The quest for precision, rigorous execution and the refined balance of forces – essential skills in the creation of watch movements – are part of a broader purpose aimed at turning a watch into a means of conveying emotions. For the Maison, watchmaking ‘geometry’ is transformed into an artistic field that turns the measurement of time into an object of contemplation.
Vacheron’s legacy
Además, aporta una profundidad documental invaluable a la exposición “From Geometry to Artistry”.
