Vacheron Constantin has revamped the Traditionnelle Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar, featuring a 70-day power reserve

The Swiss watchmaker has updated one of its most distinctive complications with an optimised calibre, a dual-frequency regulator and a contemporary openwork dial

Vacheron Constantin presents a new interpretation of the Traditionnelle Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar, a fine watchmaking creation that combines technical innovation, classic elegance and remarkable mechanical power reserve. The model, originally launched in 2019, now returns with an evolution of the Calibre 3610 QP, a patented hand-wound movement that delivers a power reserve of up to 70 days.

The timepiece retains its dual-frequency architecture, designed to adapt to the wearer’s usage patterns. In Active mode, the watch operates at 5 Hz, prioritising daily accuracy; whilst in Rest mode, it reduces its frequency to 1.2 Hz, optimising energy consumption when not worn on the wrist. This user-controlled alternation is one of the model’s most distinctive technical features.

The calibre, comprising 480 components and just 6 mm thick, incorporates advances in its differentials and energy management system. Among the improvements is a patented double-gear winding mechanism for the instant-jump perpetual calendar displays, designed to require less torque than conventional systems and to preserve the stability of the movement.

Aesthetically, the new openwork dial offers a more contemporary look whilst remaining true to the design codes of the Traditionnelle collection. The power reserve, day and month sub-dials have been redesigned to enhance legibility, whilst the laser-engraved crystal creates a frosted effect that complements the guilloché pattern on the upper dial and the visible architecture of the movement.

The case, crafted from platinum, measures 42 mm in diameter and is 12.3 mm thick. The watch is completed by a textured calfskin strap and a 950 platinum ardillon buckle, reinforcing the understated and technical character of a timepiece aimed at collectors and connoisseurs of contemporary fine watchmaking.
