Nobu chooses Madrid for its new luxury address in Europe

Nobu Hotel Madrid will open its doors on 1 September on Calle Alcalá. With 50 rooms and suites, a three-level restaurant and a rooftop terrace overlooking the capital, the brand is strengthening its presence in Spain with a concept that brings together hospitality, gastronomy and design

Madrid is preparing to welcome a new addition to its growing luxury hotel landscape. On 1 September 2026, Nobu Hotel Madrid will officially open its doors on Calle Alcalá, in a prime location between Plaza de Cibeles and Puerta del Sol. It will be Nobu Hospitality’s fifth property in Spain, following Barcelona, Marbella, Ibiza and San Sebastián, and the brand’s first in the Spanish capital.

The opening comes at a time when Madrid is enjoying particularly strong international visibility, continuing to consolidate its position as a high-end travel destination. Its expanding hotel offering, combined with the dynamism of its gastronomic, cultural, artistic and retail scenes, has made the city one of Europe’s most attractive markets for leading hospitality brands.

Against this backdrop, Nobu is introducing a distinctly urban destination that brings to Madrid the hallmarks that have accompanied the brand’s international expansion: gastronomy, contemporary design and hospitality closely connected to its destination.

A new meeting place in the capital

Gastronomy will be at the heart of the experience. The hotel will feature a Nobu restaurant, bar and lounge spread across three levels, alongside a rooftop terrace offering panoramic views across the Madrid skyline. Beyond serving hotel guests, these spaces are intended to become part of the city’s social scene, attracting both international visitors and Madrid residents.

The restaurant interiors have been designed by Studio GRONDA, which is also responsible for communal areas including the lobby. The concept incorporates subtle Japanese references and embraces a restrained, timeless aesthetic in which materials, light and balance take centre stage.

The gastronomic experience will extend to the guestrooms. Services will include in-room Nobu dining and priority access to the restaurant for hotel guests, reinforcing one of the brand’s key distinguishing features.

50 rooms conceived as urban retreats

Nobu Hotel Madrid will feature 50 rooms and suites, designed by Studio Caramba. The interiors combine warm woods, organic textiles, deep green tones and ambient lighting, while floor-to-ceiling windows establish a direct connection with Madrid’s urban landscape.

Located on the top floor, the Nobu Suite will be the hotel’s most exclusive accommodation. With 105 square metres of living space and a private terrace, it has been conceived as a generously proportioned urban retreat in the heart of the city.

The experience is complemented by signature features including Nobu Signature Beds, BYREDO amenities and a dedicated wellness area. The hotel will also offer a state-of-the-art gym equipped by Technogym, as well as parking services upon request.

Contemporary luxury turns its attention to Madrid

For Natasha Hargan, General Manager of Nobu Hotel Madrid, the arrival in the Spanish capital represents an important step in the company’s expansion, particularly in Spain, where the brand already has a presence in some of the country’s leading urban and leisure destinations.

According to Hargan, the property has been conceived as an “urban oasis” where design, Nobu’s signature gastronomy, service and a connection with Madrid’s cultural life come together.

The choice of Calle Alcalá, in the Las Cortes neighbourhood, further reinforces this desire for integration with the city. Its proximity to Cibeles, Puerta del Sol and some of Madrid’s principal cultural, retail and gastronomic landmarks places the hotel at the heart of one of the capital’s most representative luxury districts.

With its relatively intimate scale, strong gastronomic identity and spaces designed to go beyond the traditional hotel experience, Nobu Hotel Madrid aims to become both an address for international travellers and a new meeting place for the city.

The hotel is scheduled to open on 1 September 2026, with reservations for stays from that date already available.
