Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor is expanding its offering for the destination wedding market with Finca Cases Velles, a historic estate situated on the Formentor peninsula, which provides the perfect setting for ceremonies and private events amidst vineyards, olive groves and Mediterranean woodland.
Documented since the 15th century and historically linked to the family of the Mallorcan poet Miquel Costa i Llobera, Cases Velles is currently part of the restoration and conservation project being carried out by Four Seasons in Formentor. The initiative aims to preserve the estate’s agricultural, cultural and natural heritage, as well as to revive traditional crops and implement sustainable farming practices.
The property retains its traditional Mallorcan architecture and features stone courtyards, gardens, spacious outdoor areas and its own historic chapel – one of its key distinguishing features for hosting weddings. Its layout allows the various stages of the event to be organised within a single setting, from the ceremony to the cocktail reception, dinner and the subsequent celebration.
The outdoor spaces offer a range of set-up options, with celebrations amongst the vineyards, in the gardens or beneath the estate’s stone arches. This variety allows for the creation of different routes and atmospheres throughout the day and enables each event to be tailored to the number of guests and the theme chosen by the couple.
Seven hectares of vineyards in Formentor
The Cases Velles project is closely linked to the peninsula’s agricultural landscape. The estate comprises seven hectares of vineyards, planted mainly with varieties native to Mallorca, alongside others such as Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. These vineyards form part of Vinyes de Formentor, the estate’s wine-making project.

In addition to these are olive groves and areas of Mediterranean woodland, as well as initiatives aimed at forest conservation and the restoration of biodiversity on Formentor.
Mallorcan identity can also be incorporated into the celebrations through a range of options. Weddings can feature local cuisine and specialities, traditional music, craft demonstrations or experiences inspired by Mallorca’s historic markets, with the aim of integrating elements linked to the island’s culture and traditional trades.
A celebration that can last for several days
The package is rounded off by the Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor, which makes it possible to organise the wedding as a multi-day stay and accommodate guests at the destination itself.

The resort revives the legacy of the historic Hotel Formentor, which for decades welcomed writers, artists and international figures, and is currently developing an offering centred on gastronomy, wellbeing and experiences linked to the peninsula’s natural surroundings.
The combination of the resort and Cases Velles makes it possible to organise various events surrounding the wedding: from pre-wedding gatherings and activities for guests to the ceremony and reception at the estate, as well as post-wedding days dedicated to relaxation and exploring Mallorca.
From the wedding day to the honeymoon
The stay can also be extended so that the newlyweds can begin their honeymoon at the same destination. Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor offers direct access to Formentor beach, swimming pools, a spa and a variety of dining options, as well as a programme of private activities both at sea and on the mainland.
Among the experiences on offer are dawn boat trips to spot dolphins in the wild, kayaking tours along the cliffs of the Serra de Tramuntana, visits to sea caves and secluded beaches, snorkelling sessions accompanied by a marine biologist, and private trips on a traditional llaüt.
On land, the ‘Silla y Sal’ experience combines a horse ride along the trails of Na Blanca with a culinary stop at Finca Cases Velles, followed by a trip on a llaüt.
The programme also includes activities such as ‘Art in the Vines’, a private painting workshop amongst the vineyards accompanied by local wine and canapés; cookery classes focusing on Mallorcan specialities; sunset tours; experiences exploring the history of Formentor with the hotel’s resident historian; and private helicopter flights over the Serra de Tramuntana, departing from the resort.
Cuisine and private experiences
The culinary experience can also extend beyond the hotel’s restaurants. The resort organises private dinners amongst the vineyards, picnics in the heart of nature and open-air film screenings, with bespoke menus and wine pairings.
These venues and services can be used both on the days of the wedding and for subsequent private experiences, including romantic dinners for two or bespoke marriage proposals.
With this offering, Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor brings together accommodation, celebrations, fine dining, nature and private experiences in a single destination, whilst Finca Cases Velles provides a historic setting with deep roots in the landscape and rural traditions of Mallorca.
The result makes it possible to organise everything from the ceremony in the estate’s chapel and the reception amongst the vineyards to the guests’ stay and the first few days of the honeymoon, bringing together the various stages of a destination wedding on the Formentor peninsula.
