Ferragamo is set to bring to the big screen a reflection on heritage, identity and continuity with the premiere of Un Passo Alla Volta (One Step at a Time), a short film to be screened on 9 September 2026 at the Teatro La Fenice, as part of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival. The film, written by Martina Ferragamo and Simone Coppo, directed by the latter and produced by Image Hunters, features a cast including Martina Ferragamo, Margherita Buy, Francesco Colella and Francesco Centorame.
Based on an original idea by Martina Ferragamo and Simone Coppo, the film reflects on how each generation finds its own path in the face of the weight of history and expectations. Through a narrative that shifts between reality and a dreamlike dimension, the story explores the process of transforming an inherited legacy into a personal choice.
The story follows Martina, an actress starring in a film inspired by her own family’s history. As filming progresses, the boundaries between fiction and reality begin to blur, giving way to a journey through memory that connects the past with the present. On this journey, the protagonist is confronted with the question of what it means to inherit a legacy and how to turn it into a project of her own.

The short film explores the historical link between Salvatore Ferragamo and Hollywood cinema, before turning its focus to Wanda Miletti Ferragamo, whose career represents the continuation of the family enterprise following the founder’s death. Through these two figures, the film offers an insight into the evolution of a fashion house that has made its history part of Italy’s cultural and creative heritage.
Beyond the biography of the Ferragamo family, Un Passo Alla Volta addresses universal themes such as our relationship with those who came before us, talent, the passage of time and each individual’s ability to forge their own identity. The title encapsulates this idea of progressive advancement: transforming the past into the future begins, as the film suggests, with a first step.
With this premiere, Ferragamo is expanding its dialogue with the world of cinema—a realm linked to the brand’s history since its inception—and is once again placing storytelling, memory and cultural creation at the heart of its vision, coinciding with one of the most significant film events on the international calendar.
