Hotel Neri, which was the first boutique hotel in the neighbourhood, is a member of the Anima Hotels family and is the only one in Barcelona to be part of the Relais & Châteaux chain, with twenty-two rooms and different spaces that allow you to enjoy a stay that goes beyond the standard. Today, the Neri hotel aims to be a new window onto the city to discover it through artisan work. It will co-edit with local professionals who work with the city’s legacy to give voice to its current history. Guests can choose to stay in one of the six Standard rooms, the Deluxe Balcony, one of the eight Deluxe rooms, the four Deluxe rooms with terrace, the three Junior Suites or the Neri Suite.
The Standard rooms are decorated with minimalist handcrafted wooden furniture. The rooms on the first floor feature large murals in gold leaf and silver leaf, while the rest of the floors house paintings of the original ‘La Mirada Transeúnte’ photographs.
Also on the first floor is the Deluxe Balcony, which differs from the others because the balcony overlooks the Plaza San Felip, allowing you to feel the square up close and experience the history of the Gothic Quarter.
The eight Deluxe rooms, and the four Deluxe rooms with terrace, located on the first and first floors, are more spacious and have bathrooms with bathtubs. Some of them have multiple balconies, original coffered ceilings and even private terraces with a fun outdoor shower idea.
The three Junior Suites, located on different floors of the hotel and distinguished by their special features, enjoy more space, original coffered ceilings, multiple balconies and even private terraces.
Finally, the Neri Suite is the room with the most space and comfort. Located on the first floor, it boasts high ceilings with original coffered ceilings, large Italian sofas and large windows with independent balconies.
Located opposite the iconic Plaça Sant Felip Neri, one of the most beautiful postcards of Barcelona and the Gothic Quarter, ‘a Restaurant’ has a discreet, intimate and welcoming setting. It is, however, a lively, casual and dynamic space where chef Alain Guiard gives free rein to his creativity through a cuisine that is easy to understand, powerful, creative and with personality, rooted in local tradition.
‘a Restaurant’ offers a cuisine with a base, with substance, well done. A cuisine that is committed to the simplicity of small letters and that starts at the beginning, with the ‘a’. It is about honest recipes that are governed by respect for the product, to which minimal interventions are applied to enhance its flavours.
The calm and intimate atmosphere of Neri invites you to linger and enjoy the hotel’s different spaces such as The Library; the Boa Space where you will find La Boa, one of the great works of the Brazilian brothers and designers Campana, Brazilian designers with international recognition: ninety metres of velvet knotted in a large irregular braid, from where you can contemplate the impressive canvas inspired by a modern jungle, the work of Amado Fabrega and Alejandro Bedoya. A breath of air and exoticism that invites you to travel without leaving the hotel, as well as the Lounge Bar where you can enjoy the best cocktails and snacks.
The rooftop of the Hotel Neri hides a surprising and unexpected corner. It is a small garden from where you can contemplate the most authentic skyline of the city: an amalgam of rooftops, terraces and hanging clothes (the element that gives the space its name, Roba Estesa means ‘hanging clothes’ in Catalan) that places the visitor in the heart of a lively and genuine network of streets of which the hotel is an active part, the Gothic Quarter. This intimate nook of Barcelona’s city centre has a charming infinity pool where you can enjoy a cocktail or a glass of wine.
Almost opposite the Hotel Neri, on Calle Sant Sever itself, is Casa Neri, an old house with classical architectural features that has been renovated and divided into six exclusive one-bedroom flats to meet the growing demand from guests who want a more independent stay.
