Fairmont Residences La Hacienda: Living in the Southern Light

Architecture by dAAr and interiors by Studio i|b|u take their cue from the Mediterranean landscape, shaping villas where light, textures and a connection to the outdoors become part of everyday life.

Light changes a home throughout the day. As it enters in the morning, it reveals a contour, reaches into a corner and traces patterns across the floor that will have vanished a few hours later. Towards evening, it softens colours and alters the perceived depth of each room. In the south, its presence feels almost like companionship: it draws our gaze outside, invites us to open the doors and lets a conversation linger as the horizon fades.

Fairmont Residences La Hacienda grows out of this relationship with its surroundings. Set on the Costa del Sol, between the Mediterranean and the golf course, its villas make the landscape a constant presence. The sea, the expansive views and the natural light all inform the design of homes conceived for a life connected to the outdoors.

The architectural project, developed by dAAr Arquitectura, begins with a careful reading of the terrain and its possibilities. The placement of the villas, their orientation and the relationships between spaces allow each home to find its place within the whole. A sense of continuity brings the landscape into view from within, allowing its presence to accompany the simplest rituals of life at home.

This idea finds expression in the generous proportions of the rooms and their openness to the horizon. The eye can travel through the interior and beyond, connecting the intimate scale of the home with the breadth of its surroundings. Having breakfast overlooking the sea or pausing for a few minutes to watch the warm orange light of sunset becomes part of the architectural experience.

Studio i|b|u brings the same thoughtful approach to the interiors. Natural, refined materials, carefully considered textures and a palette of neutral tones come together to reflect the light of the surrounding landscape.

Textures take on particular importance within this understated design language. They invite a closer look, revealing nuances that emerge when we take the time to observe a space.

Everything comes together in a home where architecture and interior design share the same sensibility, shaping warm spaces that open onto the landscape and offer a haven for the southern light.
