The Chronomaster Original, the modern successor to the ZENITH A386, one of the first El Primero references with a round steel case from 1969, now reinterprets the iconic black tricolor dial, a first for the historic 1969 case. The watch with black tricolor dial is equipped with the latest generation of the El Primero high-frequency automatic chronograph caliber, with tenths of a second display. It also stands out as a contemporary version of one of El Primero’s most emblematic references.
One of El Primero’s most distinctive design elements is reinvented in the latest addition to the Chronomaster Original line: the traditionally cream-white dial with three counters in shades of gray and blue is turned black for a more dramatic look.
Without altering the unique aesthetics of the A386 and its multiple scales, the Chronomaster Original seamlessly integrates a chronograph with a split-seconds display into the design. Like no other chronograph, the Chronomaster Original features a central red chronograph seconds hand that completes a 10-second rotation of the dial.
After more than 50 years since it forever changed the trajectory of mechanical chronographs, ZENITH continues to develop and evolve the El Primero caliber to design new models that push the limits of performance. It remains the benchmark for precision among automatic chronograph movements.
