On the 17th of January, as every year, the International Day of Italian Cuisine was celebrated. An important date in the calendar, which pays tribute to the culinary richness of our neighbouring country and which the renowned Big Mamma group has turned into a perfect opportunity to praise the true architects of flavour. Those small Italian producers who, with their effort and passion, keep alive the authenticity of each ingredient, who make it possible to recreate those traditional recipes of Italian gastronomy that are preserved from generation to generation.
With more than one hundred and seventy carefully selected suppliers in every corner of Italy, Big Mamma has managed to transfer the essence of the different regions of our neighbouring country to each of its dishes. From the sunny lands of Naples to the hills of Emilia-Romagna, the search for the best ingredients from each area has taken shape in a seductive menu composed of delicious dishes that always tell stories.

Among the most outstanding ingredients that have conquered Big Mamma’s tables are the pomodori San Marzano DOP from Solania, famous for their juiciness and balance. While from Campania comes the exquisite fior di latte mozzarella from Latteria Sorrentina which, with its creaminess and freshness, evokes the taste of the most authentic Italy. In addition, lovers of intense flavours will find in Team Tartufi’s fresh truffle, brought all the way from Piedmont, an ingredient capable of transforming any dish into an unforgettable gourmet experience.
With these marvellous local products from the different regions of Italy, Villa Capri has designed an impeccable recipe book that takes us into the essence of authentic Italian cuisine with every bite. A charming restaurant that captures the essence of the Amalfi Coast with its colourful décor, lively atmosphere and cuisine that exudes flavour and authenticity. Villa Capri has different spaces to suit any occasion and a charming terrace that is ideal for enjoying the good weather.

Our evening at Villa Capri began with a creamy burrata that appears on the menu as Naked Burrata and which surprised us with its two hundred and fifty grams of delicious burrata dressed with olive oil, black pepper and a refreshing touch of fresh basil. A formidable way to get into Villa Capri’s gastronomic proposal, which continued with its famous Carbomamma. An irresistible spaghetti carbonara made according to the original recipe, with an exquisite Tuscan guanciale, Pecorino cheese and egg. A hearty and super tasty option, ideal for sharing. Before moving on to the sweet moment of dessert, we couldn’t resist the temptation to try the pizza called Shuffle Truffle, which will delight the most fervent truffle lovers. With hints of ricotta, mozzarella and sautéed mushrooms, we found it to be a magnificent interplay of flavours that is extremely balanced and delicious.
For dessert, we opted to try their famous cheesecake, which appears on the menu as ‘Te queso mucho’. An amusing declaration of intent, which made us thoroughly enjoy every last spoonful.
Villa Capri, a perfect destination to let yourself be carried away by the authentic flavours of the nonna and enjoy an experience that conquers the senses. Are you ready to travel to the Amalfi Coast with Villa Capri?
