Pintarroja Menorca opens the season with a proposal more Mediterranean than ever

The chef Eugeni de Diego’s seasonal pop‑up returns to Es Castell with a refreshed menu celebrating local produce, simplicity and authentic seaside flavours

Since its first edition, Pintarroja has proven that true sophistication lies in well-crafted simplicity. Located in the charming harbour of Es Castell, Menorca, this seasonal pop-up restaurant led by chef Eugeni de Diego has become a reference point for those in search of a sincere, intimate culinary experience deeply rooted in the Mediterranean spirit.

Now in its third season, Pintarroja unveils a refreshed offering while remaining true to its essence: product-driven cuisine, executed with precision and designed to be savoured at leisure. The 2025 menu introduces new dishes inspired by traditional Menorcan and Mediterranean recipes, featuring made-to-order preparations where the grill takes centre stage. The flavours are clean, direct, and deeply evocative of the island.

Each dish is a reflection of the landscape – sea, light, simplicity, and character. The freshness of the fish, the honesty of seasonal ingredients, and the absence of unnecessary embellishments shape an experience where luxury lies in the essential. All of it is guided by the expert hand of Eugeni de Diego, who, after his time at the legendary elBulli alongside Ferran Adrià, has forged his own identity grounded in respect for the product and an emotional approach to gastronomy.

Pintarroja is more than a restaurant. It is a pause by the sea, a celebration of the present moment, a space where time seems to slow down, allowing flavour, conversation, and the natural beauty of Menorca to take centre stage. Its concept moves away from fleeting trends to offer something timeless – a cuisine with soul.

The Catalan chef also leads other culinary projects in Barcelona, such as Colmado Wilmot, focused on traditional cuisine with a modern perspective, and Lombo, inspired by Italian gastronomy. Yet it is at Pintarroja where his most personal language is expressed with complete freedom, in an ephemeral format that makes each visit feel truly special.

The restaurant will be open every evening from Monday to Sunday, from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm, throughout the summer season.
