The new smoked vermouth Dos Déus OriginsSmoked Red is unique on the market. For its production, the Priorat-based winery (Tarragona) was inspired by Islay whiskies that use peat to smoke the malt, and it is refined using the Tennessee bourbon method, leaving it to rest in extra-toasted American oak barrels. As a result, a complex and unusual vermouth, which for this reason is identified with Hades, the god of the underworld, a world full of mystery like this vermouth.
A reference created after the DIP Smoked that has already won several awards, such as the Gold Vinari Awards for Best Vermouth Coctelería and the great Gold Vinari Awards for Best Innovative Vermouth. Now, it joins Dos DéusOrigins, a young and fresh range that goes back to the roots of vermouth and those of the Priorat B&D Lab winery located in Bellmunt del Priorat, and its brothers, the main gods of Greek mythology chosen for their relevance and power: Zeus, the king of the gods for the Dry White Reserve, Poseidon, the god of the seas for the White and Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war for Reserve Red.
Dos Déus Origins Smoked Red is produced in its cellar located in Priorat, following the same artisan winemaking tradition of the region of producing great wines. It is made from a base of Macabeo, Xarel- lo and Parellada using 100% natural botanicals, 17 herbs and spices including nutmeg, clove, cumin and orange peel.
Matured in French oak trunks and refined in toasted American oak barrels, this smoked vermouth is different, but still vermouth. On the nose, it is an attractive, unique vermouth with an unprecedented aromatic complexity. Elegantly intense and restructured with a great balance between floral notes, wood and smoke, the palate is complex and full of nuances, gentle and expressive, with bitter-sweet notes balanced with the fresh notes typical of the varieties. Moderate notes of vanilla and charcoal. Smooth, fruity with a smoky touch reminiscent of an American whisky. All in all, a unique vermouth, vibrant and fresh, very sweet, herbaceous and spicy, and stubbornly Scottish.
