The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships (CSWWC) has awarded a Gold medal to the Núria Claverol Homenatge 2015 cava from Sumarroca (DO CAVA). This award is the highest recognition given by this competition.
The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championship is the only international sparkling wine competition. The tasting is blind and is judged by Tom Stevenson, founder and chairman of the competition and considered the world’s leading expert on sparkling wines, as well as Essi Avellan MW and George Markus.
This recognition is the result of the work that the entire Sumarroca team dedicates to making great wines based on three pillars: respect for the environment and sustainability, tradition and native varieties.

Varieties: Xarel-lo from old vines from Finca Peretes in Monistrol d’Anoia. Ecological.
Soil composition: sandy with gravel. Vessel conduction.
Aging: + 45 months
This cava is very special. It bears the name of the wife of the founder of the winery, Carles Sumarroca and the dedication of his three sons to their mother ‘It is a tribute to our mother; love for the land is a constant in her life’.
Tasting notes: Intense and singular aroma, with mineral and toasted notes that give uniqueness to the whole. It is extremely tasty on the palate, with a fine, perfectly integrated bubble that enriches the lively, fruity taste of the first notes and the fresh, mineral taste of the latter.
