Ferragamo transforms silk into art with “Floating Silk Garden” during the Salone del Mobile 2026

The Italian brand is presenting an immersive installation at its women’s boutique in Milan, inspired by nature and its textile heritage

Ferragamo is taking part in the Salone del Mobile 2026 with the installation “Floating Silk Garden”, a concept designed for its women’s boutique in Milan, which will be open to visitors from 18 to 26 April. The installation transforms the retail space into a sensory experience where silk and nature interact through a suspended arrangement of scarves and cushions.

The shop windows are transformed into a setting in which silk scarves, featuring exclusive prints and a vibrant colour palette, appear to float in the air. The installation creates a three-dimensional effect that evokes lightness and movement, reinforcing the prominence of silk as a central element of the house’s identity.

In this project, Ferragamo revisits its tradition in textile design through compositions that integrate botanical motifs—flowers, leaves and petals—with references to its archive. These forms recreate shoe silhouettes and the Gancini symbol, articulating a visual language in which nature and heritage converge.

At the heart of the installation are two prints from the Silk Pre-Fall 2026 collection. The first establishes a dialogue between floral forms and shoe silhouettes, whilst the second reinterprets archive motifs in a spiral composition, where orchids, wisteria, lilies and dahlias unfold in a range of warm tones.

Suspended at varying heights, the scarves create a dynamic setting that reinforces the sensation of weightlessness. In contrast, a base of cushions crafted from silk scarves introduces a more tactile element, serving as a display for the season’s key accessories.

With “Floating Silk Garden”, Ferragamo presents a concept that combines heritage, design and spatial experimentation within the context of the leading international design event.
