The Barcelona International Boat Show announces important new features for its 2025 edition, which will take place from 8 to 12 October at the Port Vell. The event will seek to consolidate itself as one of the major European events in the nautical sector, incorporating large boats of more than 20 metres in length and exclusive experiences aimed at large buyers.
Luis Conde, president of the Boat Show, stressed at a press conference the need to boost the Spanish boating industry, stressing that ‘in Spain 50,000 nautical titles are issued and 5,000 boats are sold, all these new graduates have aspirations to rent or buy a boat’. Conde also underlined the importance of the show as a fundamental showcase for the sector.
For his part, the director of the event, Josep Antoni Llopart, announced that the organisation is considering holding two annual editions starting in 2026, one in spring aimed at a more family-oriented public and another in autumn focused on the professional sector and large buyers. According to Llopart, this strategy seeks to ‘regain international relevance but to strengthen and care for the national buyer’.
2025 Boat Show
The next edition will feature a new concept called ‘BOATIQUE’, which includes an exclusive 2,500 m² gastronomic Village located in the Portal de la Pau, where attendees can enjoy haute cuisine and exclusive networking spaces. The event is expanding to the Moll de Barcelona, joining the traditional Moll la Fusta, Moll Espanya and Marina Port Vell, creating a floating exhibition with 200 boats and more than 12,000 m² of commercial space.
In addition, the show seeks to adapt to different buyer profiles identified as Community Builders, Calm Seekers, Freedom Explorers, Curious Minds and Achievers, through experiences adapted to their interests and lifestyles.
Finally, Conde highlighted the importance of nautical tourism. In this line, the event will continue to focus on sustainability with hybrid, electric and solar models, highlighting technological innovation and the growing nautical rental market, especially among the younger generations.
Exclusive experiences for shoppers and visitors
The 2025 Boat Show reinforces its commitment to excellence with a programme of 50 international hosted buyers, ensuring the presence of major buyers from the sector. Added to this is a network of ambassadors made up of companies and yacht clubs, who will promote the event in key markets such as France, Italy, Germany, Holland and Belgium.
In addition to the new village, attendees will be able to participate in innovative activities such as the Blue Tech Summit, which will address issues of blue economy, digitisation and sustainability, and the Blue Tech Safaris, guided tours to discover the most innovative projects in the sector in Barcelona. The Ship&Tips programme will also include a series of practical talks on maintenance and safety in navigation.
