Vacheron Constantin expands its Métiers d’Art Chinese Zodiac Legend series with a new creation dedicated to the Year of the Horse, which marks the beginning of the next lunar cycle in February 2026. The Swiss firm presents two limited editions of 25 pieces each, crafted in 18-carat 5N rose gold and 950 platinum, powered by the automatic calibre 2460 G4, developed and manufactured by the Maison.
The collection continues a tradition begun in 2012, with which the Geneva-based company pays tribute to the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac. The horse, the seventh sign of the calendar, represents vitality, loyalty and good fortune, and has occupied an important place in Chinese art and culture since ancient times.
The new Métiers d’Art Year of the Horse combines Grand Feu enamelling, miniature painting and hand engraving techniques to create a dial dominated by a three-dimensional figure of a horse in motion. Each motif is crafted in 18-carat white or rose gold and finished with an enamelled background that requires more than two weeks of craftsmanship.
The calibre 2460 G4, visible through the sapphire crystal case back, offers a 40-hour power reserve and is distinguished by its reading system without conventional hands. Four rotating discs display the hours, minutes, day and date in apertures around the dial, freeing up the central space for artistic decoration.
The movement, composed of 237 components and certified with the Geneva Seal, features Haute Horlogerie finishes such as pearling, Côtes de Genève and hand-bevelled bridges. The openworked oscillating weight, crafted in 22-carat yellow gold, incorporates the Maltese Cross, the historic emblem of the house.
Each edition is complemented by an alligator leather strap: brown in the rose gold version and blue in the platinum version, both hand-stitched and with a matching folding clasp.
The Métiers d’Art Chinese Zodiac Legend – Year of the Horse series will be available exclusively in Vacheron Constantin boutiques, reinforcing the continuity of a project that combines technical precision, decorative art and cultural heritage.
