The week opened with Gucci, now under the creative direction of Demna, who surprised the audience with his first collection for the iconic Italian fashion house. The brand opted for a renewed aesthetic language that fused impeccable tailoring with a fresh, contemporary air, evoking references to the 1960s and exploring sophisticated yet comfortable silhouettes in a show marked by elegance and an elaborate live musical performance that enhanced the experience.
Loro Piana, meanwhile, reaffirmed its reputation as an unrivalled master of Italian textiles and craftsmanship with a presentation held at Palazzo Citterio, a setting that lent an aura of art and culture to the event. Its collection stood out for its fine materials, such as cashmere and silk, in classic garments updated with unexpected details and understated sophistication.
Fendi captured attention with a dynamic show in an iconic space transformed into a multicoloured chessboard, reflecting the brand’s playful and innovative spirit. Silvia Venturini Fendi, the current designer, bids farewell with this collection, while rumours grow that Maria Grazia Chiuri, creative director at Dior, will be her successor, a move that promises to shake up the Italian luxury scene.
Prada once again challenged preconceptions with a collection that emphasised today’s free and daring femininity, the work of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons. Their show was a spectacle of unbridled creativity, where the mix of fabrics and shapes narrated a journey towards fashion without limits.
Under the direction of Louise Trotter, Bottega Veneta presented a collection that was the perfect synthesis of innovation and respect for artisanal heritage, with refined silhouettes and an elegant colour palette that reaffirmed the house’s distinctive identity.
One of the highlights of the week was the tribute to Giorgio Armani on the occasion of his 50th anniversary. The legendary designer was celebrated in a fashion show held in the Cortile d’Onore of Palazzo Brera, a majestic venue that enhanced the solemnity and emotion of the event. The collection evoked Armani’s classic elegance, with iconic pieces reinvented for the future, illuminating a night steeped in history and sophistication.
