In January 2026, London will add a new landmark to its luxury gastronomic map with the opening of Le Café, the first café to open in the historic Burlington Arcade. Conceived by renowned master pâtissier Nicolas Rouzaud, the project represents a natural evolution in his career: a more relaxed, everyday space where the art of high-end pâtisserie is expressed through simplicity and emotion.
Located under the arcade’s iconic arches, Le Café is designed as a place for leisurely moments: from morning coffee to a light lunch or a cocktail at the end of the day. The concept is inspired by French café culture as a daily meeting place, brought to the heart of Mayfair with a contemporary and accessible sensibility, without compromising on technical rigour or product excellence.

The gastronomic offering, created exclusively for this enclave, is based on personal and seasonal recipes. Highlights include reinterpretations of classics such as brioche à tête—offered in sweet and savoury versions—and a refined take on Victoria sponge, which pays homage to British tradition. Coffee and cocktails are integrated into the experience with the same gourmand approach, where texture and balance of flavours take centre stage.

The interior design, by Sabrina Caisson Design, translates Rouzaud’s aesthetic universe into a chromatic language dominated by deep reds and dusty hues, distributed across three levels with distinct atmospheres. Lacquered materials, mirrored surfaces and handcrafted pieces lend a sense of contemporary intimacy that dialogues with the architectural heritage of the place.
With Le Café, Nicolas Rouzaud proposes a vision of luxury that is less ceremonial and more experiential: a space where technical precision coexists with memory, and where everyday gestures—a coffee, a pastry, a conversation—become a discreet form of celebration.
