The Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, tells us exclusively how the development of luxury tourism will be in 2023.
Reyes Maroto assures that luxury tourism is a segment that is growing a lot, especially in urban destinations, in other words cities, with Madrid as the main model, due to the high investment being made by major brands. An example of this is the Four Seasons Hotel, which opened its doors in the capital on September 25, 2020 and has become a landmark in the city.
He also stated that in view of the growth of this sector, TURESPAÑA will support luxury tourism, since Spain must reposition itself in this segment to attract quality tourists seeking unique experiences.
In addition, during the FITUR cocktail presentation in the cloisters of the Jerónimos of the Del Prado Museum, Reyes Maroto announced that the new headquarters of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) will be operational by the end of 2024.
