A collection dedicated to the industrial music of the 80s and 90s that experiments with and draws inspiration from the rock band that, even today, after more than 40 years, remains unique on the world scene and turns its music into art: Depeche Mode.
The catwalk is transformed into an aesthetic concert of contrasting volumes, clean silhouettes and minimal cuts, and proportions ranging from oversize to super-fit. Micro shorts and mini dresses alternate with new rocker interpretations of red carpet outfits combined with biker boots.
The chromatic palette is characterized by the predominance of neutral colors such as gray, black and white, sprinkled with shades such as cedar and silver. Metallic colors evoke the stage, guitars and backstage, and impart an extreme sensuality that bursts and fills the space.
The name Depeche Mode originated from an idea of iconic frontman David Gahan, who stumbled upon the French magazine La Moda Veloce, La Moda passeggera. It is further proof of how strong and enduring the relationship between music and fashion is over time.
Fashion evolving in its dynamic nature is precisely the stylistic exercise with which Elisabetta Franchi’s Spring Summer 2024 collection has been designed.
