Tommy Hilfiger, presents its new TOMMY JEANS Remastered collection, in tribute to the 50th anniversary of hip-hop and TOMMY HILFIGER’s deep-rooted tradition with this cultural movement. The past meets the future in a capsule that offers a contemporary interpretation of the silhouettes from the Tommy Hilfiger archives that have most shaped this culture. The campaign features British rapper and future voice of hip-hop, Central Cee and GRAMMY®-nominated American rapper, GloRilla.
“Such an iconic anniversary calls for an equally iconic capsule,” in the words of Tommy Hilfiger. “With this collection we celebrate moments that defined the look of 90’s hip-hop and redesign them for today. I’m thrilled to be able to work with Central Cee and GloRilla, two current icons who are sharing with new generations the boundless creativity that defines this culture.”
The TOMMY JEANS Remastered collection consists of 17 pieces featuring relaxed, loose-fitting garments and creative reinterpretations of classic TOMMY HILFIGER designs. Highlights include a reissue of the striped rugby jersey made popular by the legendary Snoop Dog in his appearance on “Saturday Night Live” in 1994; the “Big Logo” puffer, worn by artists such as Aaliyah and Raekwon, is fused with Tommy’s red, white and blue flag; the cropped leather biker jacket reinterprets one of the style staples of 2000s icons TLC. Large logos and vivid nautical-inspired colors take center stage on the Chicago windbreaker. Among the most eye-catching oversize garments are the prepp varsity and leather jacket with red, white and black accents, the Air Force-style cropped nylon jacket and the black denim baggy pants.
The number 85, the year of the brand’s birth, is printed on the oversized soccer jersey from the archives that Central Cee recently wore during his “On The Radar” performance, as well as on the vintage wash oversized sweatshirt and t-shirt.
The campaign, photographed by Lea Winker, portrays Central Cee and GloRilla taking inspiration from the golden age of hip-hop, highlighting the artists’ signature creative expression.
Aiming to connect with the voices of tomorrow, the 3D visuals feature hip-hop duo Ghost Kidz, in collaboration with entertainment brand Superplastic. Lil’ILL, one of the characters, appears in the TOMMY JEANS Remastered jacket with the flag in the brand’s iconic colors and Filth-E in the black football-style T-shirt.
TOMMY JEANS, a brand linked to hip-hop, celebrates the 50th anniversary of this culture with the launch of the Remastered and Tommy x Avirex collections, launched on November 2. The collaboration with Avirex features iconic outerwear, as the two legends team up to launch a limited edition tribute to the best of hip-hop.
