The new Barceló Funchal Oldtown hotel is located in the historic center of Funchal, on Rua da Alfandega, the city’s most important shopping street.
A unique architectural rehabilitation project in which it has managed to unify six 17th century buildings in the historic center, maintaining their original facades and their old interior floors. During the excavation process, important elements and vestiges of past centuries have been found and all of them have been integrated into the decoration of the hotel, adding value to the local cultural heritage.
