In summary, Watches and Wonders 2024 has witnessed innovation and a celebration of Vacheron Constantin’s legacy through its most representative collections.
The Grand Lady Kalla: A Brilliant Comeback
From its predecessor, the Kallista in 1979, to the award-winning Lady Kalla of 2001, and the innovative Lady Kalla Flamme of 2010, the Lady Kalla series has been a lasting symbol of luxury and excellence in watchmaking. With diamonds set in solid gold, these pieces are icons of opulence and design, leaving an indelible mark on the history of haute horlogerie, redefining standards of elegance and sophistication.
The Grand Lady Kalla by Vacheron Constantin is a contemporary ensemble that combines a watch with a sautoir necklace, offering a quartet of wearing possibilities that reflect the brand’s characteristic creativity spanning over two and a half centuries. This set evokes the tradition of feminine pendant watches, such as the 1924 model, which transforms into a brooch thanks to its removable closure system and exquisite setting of rubies, emeralds, onyx, and diamonds.
The Grand Lady Kalla updates this transformative capability by combining a watch entirely set with diamonds with a sautoir necklace adorned with diamonds, Akoya pearls, and onyx beads. This fusion creates a jewelry dialogue between the two pieces, allowing the wearer to alternate between wearing the watch on the wrist or incorporating it into the sautoir necklace for a more elegant and distinctive style. Versatility and sophistication converge in this creation, which stands out for its refinement and adaptability to different occasions and personal tastes.
Égérie
Two watches born from the creative collaboration between Vacheron Constantin and Yiqing Yin, one of the standout talents from its ‘One of Not Many’ program. One of them is a concept watch that merges Haute Horlogerie, Haute Couture, and Haute Perfumery; the other is an exclusive limited edition of 100 pieces, with Yiqing Yin’s name engraved on the caseback.
Égérie – The Pleats of Time is an expression of refinement and excellence. The 37mm rose gold case, set with diamonds, the pleated dial in dusty lilac, and the Maison’s characteristic asymmetrical geometry come together to create a refined and original feminine silhouette. Yiqing Yin has contributed her distinctive aesthetic, while the French master perfumer Dominique Ropion has created an exclusive fragrance encapsulated in the watch strap. The cohesion between these elements elevates this concept watch to a unique work of art in its own right.
Overseas, the first green sunburst dials in the history of the collection
The vibrant intense green makes its first appearance in the color palette of dials and interchangeable straps of the Overseas collection, with the introduction of four new models in rose gold. In perfect harmony with the spirit of travel, this new hue is now offered in the dials of the 35-millimeter models with gem-set bezels, as well as in the 41-millimeter model with date function, the 42.5-millimeter chronograph, and the 41-millimeter dual time zone watch.
With water resistance of up to 150 meters, each of these new watches is equipped with a high-quality automatic winding movement and meticulously crafted finishes. The movements feature an oscillating weight engraved with the collection’s iconic wind rose. Like all Overseas watches, the rose gold bracelet with deployant clasp adjusts with great ease. Additionally, it can be replaced by a calfskin leather strap or a green rubber strap, each with an interchangeable buckle.
