The Mena restaurant, in LaFinca Grand Café, has a new menu with the renowned chef Aurelio Morales

The impressive space, designed by Alejandra Pombo, surprises us with a magnificent gastronomic proposal signed by the chef from Alcalá de Henares.

In the heart of LaFinca Grand Café, just ten minutes from the hustle and bustle of Madrid, awaits a new gastronomic temple that redefines the concept of traditional cuisine with a contemporary freshness. The Mena restaurant, part of the Lew Brand Group, celebrates its first anniversary with the incorporation of Aurelio Morales as gastronomic advisor. The prestigious chef from Alcalá de Henares, has designed the new dishes on Mena’s menu inspired by the depth of flavours born from the fire of the embers and the restaurant’s emblematic wood-fired oven. In this way, Morales surprises us with the new autumn/winter menu, which takes shape in an impeccable gastronomic proposal where tradition and avant-garde converge.

A magnificent collection of irresistible morsels that we can enjoy in the impressive space designed by the prestigious interior designer Alejandra Pombo. Mena boasts over a thousand five hundred metres square, distributed over two floors, which adapt perfectly to every moment of the day, so that we can enjoy at any time of day a sensorial experience that features an uninterrupted kitchen. With various atmospheres, each one more spectacular than the last, the Mena concept evokes an exclusive atmosphere in harmony with nature. A versatile restaurant, with an atmosphere that is both casual and elegant, and which in its first year of life has already become the new meeting point of Pozuelo de Alarcón.

On our visit to Mena, we began by savouring an original traditional gilda with mussels that pleasantly surprised us with its intense sea flavour, before continuing with a refreshing and exotic sea bass ceviche with mango and mandarin, which helped us cleanse our palate before moving on to taste the exquisite roasted aubergine with fresh herb pesto.

We continued with a curious Galician octopus salad topped with chopped carrot, which shared the limelight with a delicious Caesar salad prepared on crunchy Tudela lettuce hearts in wrap format. A daring preparation, which we savoured from start to finish before succumbing to the charms of the truffle and ham croquettes, which we found absolutely irresistible. Both were delicious, although we confess that our favourite was the truffle.

The steak tartar, served on a delicious brioche bun, won us over as soon as we tasted it and led us to some sublime seasonal mushrooms with cured egg yolk and truffle parmentier. An impeccable recipe, which enchanted our palate before moving on to taste the delicate lasagne of changurro, which is a real spectacle.

Before moving on to the sweet moment of dessert, we also tasted a wonderful turbot with red prawns that delighted us with its delicious nuances. A delight in every sense of the word, which culminated with a magnificent, super creamy cheesecake served with a delicious cream ice cream.

Mena celebrates its first anniversary with the launch of a laughable menu that has been meticulously put together by renowned chef Aurelio Morales. A must-visit just ten minutes away from the urban chaos, where you can enjoy a resounding cuisine in the middle of nature. Undoubtedly, a most tempting plan, isn’t it?
