New propulsion system and three supporting electric motors
The new supercar redefines the segment by combining an advanced V8 biturbo engine with three electric motors. This innovative propulsion system, the result of five years of development, delivers a combined power of 920 hp, instant acceleration, and an unprecedented driving experience.
The 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine is among the most powerful in its category, reaching 10,000 revolutions per minute. This engine works in synergy with three electric motors—two at the front axle and one integrated within the V8 housing—to provide not only incredible power but also exceptional energy efficiency. This combination allows for a reduction of up to 50% in CO2 emissions compared to previous models like the Huracán, positioning the Temerario at the forefront of hybrid technology in supercars.
Additionally, the Temerario is equipped with a high-power lithium-ion battery, strategically placed in the central tunnel to maintain a low centre of gravity and ensure optimal weight distribution. This battery not only powers the electric motors but can also be rapidly charged in 30 minutes using a 7 kW charger or through regenerative braking.
One of the standout features of the Temerario is its auditory experience. Lamborghini has dedicated significant effort to create a distinctive sound that evolves as the V8 biturbo engine revs. Vehicle occupants can experience a unique connection with the engine through subtle vibrations transmitted to the chassis and the carefully modulated sound depending on the selected driving mode.
The Temerario offers four driving modes: Città, Strada, Sport, and Corsa. Each mode adjusts not only the engine response and vehicle dynamics but also the auditory experience. In Città mode, the supercar operates in fully electric mode, providing silent and emission-free driving in urban environments. In Strada mode, the V8 biturbo offers a more relaxed and smooth experience for daily driving. Sport and Corsa modes, on the other hand, amplify the engine’s overtones and harmonics, delivering an auditory experience that captures the essence of speed and power.
Design
With a bold and unexpected aesthetic, this vehicle aligns with Lamborghini’s DNA, maintaining an essential and iconic identity while introducing a completely new style.
Mitja Borkert, Director of Design at Automobili Lamborghini, has described the Temerario as a milestone in the brand’s design language. “Essential and iconic,” Borkert defines the approach taken, highlighting the athletic surfaces and compact proportions that give it a futuristic character. From the first glance, the Temerario presents itself as a purist supercar, with a design that is not only visually striking but also optimised to showcase its hybrid propulsion system.
The exterior of the Temerario reflects Lamborghini’s design evolution while maintaining the brand’s signature silhouette. With short overhangs, integrated aerodynamics, and a shark-nose front, the car exudes a sense of speed and daring. One of the standout innovations is the new hexagonal light signature, ensuring the vehicle is recognisable even from a distance. This geometric concept, emblematic of Lamborghini since the 1960s, is integrated throughout the design, from the side air intakes to the rear lights and exhaust.
The Temerario’s design not only prioritises aesthetics but also functionality. The air channels located below the headlights enhance aerodynamics and cooling, while the fixed rear wing and side air intakes ensure optimal performance of the V8 biturbo engine. The compact and technical rear draws inspiration from the world of motorsport, featuring details such as a wide diffuser and integrated exhaust outlets.
Inside, Lamborghini’s “Feel like a pilot” philosophy comes to life with a design that combines digital screens and mechanical buttons to offer a unique driving experience. The sporty, adjustable, and ergonomic seats envelop the driver, creating an intimate connection with the vehicle. High-quality materials such as carbon fibre, leather, and Corsatex microfibre are used throughout the interior, providing a blend of luxury and advanced technology.
Aerodynamics
With the launch of the Lamborghini Temerario, the Italian brand has achieved a significant milestone in aerodynamics and body design. This supercar not only stands out for its impressive power but also for its aerodynamic engineering, which has reached unprecedented levels of efficiency. Firstly, Lamborghini’s engineers have focused on three key areas: high-speed stability, efficient cooling, and braking performance optimisation. The result is a 103% increase in rear downforce compared to the Huracán EVO, and up to 158% with the optional Alleggerita Pack.
The front design of the Temerario features notable innovations, including hexagonal headlights with dedicated air intakes and deflectors that direct airflow to the side radiators. These features not only enhance cooling efficiency but also optimise overall aerodynamic performance. The fins in the wheel arch vents play a crucial role by diverting air away from the radiator, minimising turbulence and reducing aerodynamic drag. The exterior mirrors, designed to reduce air resistance, also contribute to directing airflow towards the radiators, maximising the cooling of the mechanical components.
At the rear, the roof design incorporates a central channel that directs air to an integrated rear wing, increasing downforce and improving vehicle stability. The Temerario’s underbody is equipped with vortex generators and a larger diffuser, which increases its surface area by 70% compared to the Huracán EVO, facilitating better airflow extraction and enhancing rear downforce.
The cooling demands of the new turbo-hybrid propulsion system have led to the implementation of an advanced radiator configuration, improving cooling performance by 30%. The braking system has also been optimised, with deflectors and air intakes that increase cooling by 20% for the discs and 50% for the calipers. The rear brake ventilation channels, fed by a NACA duct, complete this comprehensive solution, ensuring superior performance and outstanding aerodynamic efficiency.
Personalisation and “Alleggerita” package
The Lamborghini Temerario offers an unprecedented level of personalisation through its Ad Personam programme, which includes two new dedicated colours, Blu Marinus and Verde Mercurius, in addition to over 400 colour and special livery options.
