Based in Lladurs, a picturesque village in the Solsonès region of Lleida known as the “region of a thousand farmhouses,” La Vella Farga is a living testament to the unique rural architecture of Catalonia.
It offers 15 rooms with stunning views of the surrounding forests and meadows, combining the majesty of medieval architecture with the comforts of a modern luxury hotel. Each room is named after some of the former residents of the house or its workers and close associates, such as the servants or priests. They are bright, comfortable, and peaceful, with some featuring a terrace, porch, or private garden.
All of them are designed by the owners with carefully selected and restored antique pieces. In fact, the hotel features a boutique called L’Heritage Boutique, which showcases a selection of rustic-style interior design pieces, some of their own design, as well as collector’s items, accessories, and floral decorations.
La Vella Farga also stands out for its gastronomy, offering guests and visitors a culinary experience focused on traditional Catalan cuisine under the direction of chef Jordi Llobet and kitchen manager Teresa Badrenas, who take you on a journey through the region via local and seasonal ingredients. Currently, they offer two culinary proposals: the à la carte menu or the gastronomic itinerary with various dishes.
This exclusive accommodation boasts a heated outdoor swimming pool, allowing guests to enjoy it from May to October despite the harsh climate of the area. For the upcoming summer, they are constructing a poolside cottage to allow guests to enjoy snacks and drinks in the pool garden.
One of the services offered by this luxury space is its beauty and wellness treatments, featuring a wide range of therapies including various types of massages and manual therapy, foot reflexology, and personalized fitness training – ideal for relieving the stresses of daily life. On the other hand, it offers team-building activities such as Pilates or yoga classes, guided excursions with specialized guides, mountain biking tours, 4×4 excursions, hot air balloon flights, horseback riding excursions, guided tours to Solsona, visits to the Sanctuary of Miracle with wine and cheese tasting. During the warmer months, there is the option to enjoy these services outdoors, under a pergola in a forest of ancient trees. If the cold intensifies or it rains, the old stables of the farmhouse have been transformed into a fully equipped wellness room for disconnection and relaxation. Currently, all these services are provided in rooms within the farmhouse, but by the end of 2024, a contiguous farmhouse dedicated solely to the spa and treatments will be created.
It’s also a perfect hotel for hosting events as it’s a unique venue in the region for any kind of celebration or corporate event. It adapts all its spaces to the needs of the guests, who will find in this farmhouse a space full of history and culinary possibilities to enjoy.
