Dior unveils its haute joaillerie collection, Diorama, in Florence.

The cloisters of the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, a Gothic gem and an essential emblem of the Florentine Renaissance, bathed in the magical light of Tuscany, was the chosen venue by Victoire de Castellane to unveil the first chapter of her new haute joaillerie collection, Diorama. It represents the pinnacle of beauty and virtuosity, where the art and craftsmanship of Dior’s savoir-faire are expressed in their full splendour.

Sublimated Toile de Jouy

For the first time, Victoire de Castellane reinterprets the Toile de Jouy motif, an emblematic code of Dior since 1947. Owls, deer, and squirrels, sometimes hidden behind bushes, inhabit a fabulous forest where Dior’s figurative art of jewellery reveals itself with infinite details and wonderfully vibrant scenes drawn with gems of radiant tones. These sumptuous and exceptional pieces – necklaces, rings, earrings, belts, and anklets – were unveiled in the heart of Florence, in a fascinating aromatic garden filled with roses and orange blossoms, evoking the paintings and frescoes of the Italian Renaissance masters, illuminated by the same chromatic tones and sublime adornments of timeless charm.

Nature Couture

“The value of jewelry lies in its color, as it illuminates the face.” This jewelry aesthetic, which Monsieur Dior staunchly defended, becomes more evident than ever in the Diorama line through a multicolored narrative nature that weaves a sparkling tapestry of flowers where animals come to life. A rabbit leaps towards a bush set with diamonds, two owls flutter among branches adorned with rubies, and majestic swans emerge in a lake surrounded by sapphires. This wonderful living haute couture nature also includes a fox, a squirrel, and a deer, all sublimated by the intensity of chrysoprase, and is completed with golden, yellow, or pink foliage, blending with lush shrubs and flower beds adorned with jewels.

Vibrant Canvases

After Taormina and Como, Florence, the splendid capital of European art, emerged as the perfect setting for the presentation of Diorama, the new high jewelry creations by Victoire de Castellane. A fantastic selection sublimated thanks to Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Dior silhouettes and a haute couture ode to the vibrant dolce vita. Embroidered short dresses, sumptuous moiré fabrics, and black velvet corsets further enhance the intense brilliance and infinite precision of stone carving and goldsmithing. Each piece reveals a luxurious decoration enhanced by delightfully poetic vegetation and fauna.

Virtuoso Alliances

Jewelry constitutes the most refined touch of luxury“, wrote Christian Dior. The Diorama pieces designed by Victoire de Castellane are the perfect embodiment of this excellence and exceed the boundaries of savoir-faire. Maria Grazia Chiuri and the Dior ateliers have designed 25 haute couture silhouettes to further elevate this creative splendor: 1960s-style Capri pants, irresistible Bar corsets, precious woven jacquards, exceptionally crafted moiré fabrics, skirts and trousers in bright colours that perfectly complement those of the stones… A wonderful dialogue between haute couture and jewelry that transports this imaginary journey from Paris to Florence, a symbiosis of art and dreams, with a Toile de Jouy motif representing the iconic monuments of the two art capitals.
