The Barbillón Group is known for always creating beautiful venues that welcome us with cosy atmospheres, where the small details are the true stars. These are stunning spaces where you can enjoy a tempting menu, designed to be shared, offering something for every taste, available at any time of day thanks to their continuous kitchen service. This leads us into an alluring culinary experience that is constantly evolving.
A dynamic menu that never ceases to surprise us on each visit with new additions that keep winning over fans. The visionary Sánchez del Amo brothers have indeed discovered the magic formula for success. Their Oyster Bars, which started in the northwest of the capital with Panorama, Barbillón, and Tinglado, have now expanded with new openings in other locations, such as Manto Oyster Bar on Avenida de los Andes or Barbillón in Marbella.
On this occasion, our destination was Manto Oyster Bar, which warmly welcomes us the moment we step through its doors with a superb team of highly attentive professionals, making us feel right at home from the very start. Our evening began with an original oyster with Bloody Mary, which pleasantly surprised us, as did the playful spicy scallops, perfectly seasoned with a hint of chilli and garlic. Without a doubt, a fantastic start that led us to a striking Caesar salad, lively and crisp, which they prepare tableside before our very eyes. A generous salad for two, made with fresh lettuce, crispy chicken strips, fried bacon, croutons, and a creamy homemade Caesar dressing that is simply delightful. A hearty, flavourful, and delicious dish that we enjoyed from start to finish, before moving on to one of our favourite dishes from the Barbillón Group: the Japanese tempura prawn tails with kimchi mayonnaise. This is a dish best enjoyed by eating with your hands to fully appreciate its flavour and the perfect spicy kick. Certainly, one of those dishes that makes us return sooner than expected, as its memory leaves us with an uncontrollable craving.
We continued with their crispy patatas bravas, listed on the menu as “patatas bravas our way.” These irresistible flaky potatoes are served with a sensational brava sauce with a pronounced spicy touch that made us scrape every last drop.
For the main course, we opted for the beef tenderloin cubes with vegetables and mushrooms, served with al dente broccolini and snow peas. A resounding success, perfect for sharing before moving on to the sweet finale.
For dessert, we always order the freshly baked cheesecake made with blue cheese, although it’s quite mild and exceptionally creamy. Without a doubt, the perfect finishing touch to conclude the evening.
Manto Oyster Bar, a must-visit in Campo de las Naciones, where you can savour the essence of the Barbillón Group. A charming venue. A superb team. A tempting selection of delicious small plates at reasonable prices…
