As December approaches, Madrid begins to fill with gatherings and celebrations, leaving little time for ourselves between one engagement and the next. Just a few steps from the Prado, the spa at Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid offers a place to pause. Here, The Beauty Concept welcomes winter with two rituals that range from the scents of a Japanese forest to facial care with Swiss skincare, while city life carries on outside.<\/p>\n\n

Its two rituals, Forest Therapy and Swiss Cell Spa, draw on different influences: Japanese nature and Swiss skincare. Both last ninety minutes and are tailored to each guest\u2019s needs, with therapists placing touch and individual attention at the heart of the experience.<\/p>\n\n

Pink pepper, cypress and Ho wood lend their scent to an imagined forest. This evocation accompanies the touch of hands on the body, shaping Forest Therapy, a ritual inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku. Throughout the session, aromas and hands-on techniques invite guests to focus on their senses, setting December\u2019s preparations aside for a while.<\/p>\n\n
